19TH-CENTURY RUSSIAN STYLE BRASS JARDINIERE

Sale price$2,250.00

This 19th-century Russian style jardiniere features a hand worked brass body raised on three spherical feet, with a softly rounded silhouette and warm aged patina characteristic of late Imperial decorative metalwork. Brass jardinieres and cachepots of this type were popular throughout Russia and Central Europe during the late 19th century, when artisans produced functional yet sculptural vessels influenced by both traditional samovar forms and emerging Arts & Crafts design. Constructed in hand hammered brass with a visible joined seam and naturally oxidized surface, the piece reflects the understated elegance associated with antique European decorative metalware.
