AESTHETIC MOVEMENT OAK ARMCHAIR

Sale price$2,500.00

This late 19th-century Aesthetic Movement armchair features angular geometric lines, carved detailing, and a richly grained oak surface characteristic of the Anglo Japanese influence that shaped decorative arts of the period. Emerging during the 1870s and 1880s, the Aesthetic Movement favored artistic craftsmanship and simplified forms inspired by Japanese design, departing from the heavier ornament of earlier Victorian furniture. Constructed in solid oak with turned stretchers and exposed joinery, the chair reflects the refined yet functional character associated with early Arts & Crafts and Aesthetic interiors.
